INSTRUCTIONS
1. This question paper consists of 150 objective type questions, to be completed in maximum 2 hrs 30 min.
2. Each question carries 1 mark and there is no negative marking.
3. This paper has 4 parts:
Part I Child Development and Pedagogy (Q. Nos. 1-30),
Part II Language I (Hindi) (Q. Nos. 31-60),
Part III Language II (English) (Q. Nos. 61-90) and
Part IV Mathematics and Science (Q. Nos. 9l-J.50).

1. The right to free and compulsory education for children between age group of 6-14 has been included in the Indian Constitution as

  • Explanation : (D) Article 21 A of the Indian Constitution, inserted by 86th Constitutional Amendment Act, 2002, commenced on 1st April, 2010, states that "the State shall provide free and compulsory education to all children of the age of 6-14 years in such manner as the State may, by law, determine". Article 45 endeavour "the State shall provide free and compulsory education for all children until they complete the age of 14 years".

  • Explanation : (D) German psychiatrist Ernst Kretschmer in his book 'Physique and Character' that was published in 1921, classified the persons in following types
    Pyknic Type These are people who are short and having round body. They will have personality traits of extraverts. These people are more prone to suffer from a mental disorder called Manic Depressive Psychosis (MDP).
    Asthenic Type These people will have a slender or slim body. They will have the personality traits of introverts. These people are more prone to suffer from a serious mental disorder called Schizophrenia.
    Athletic Type These people will have strong body. They are more energetic and aggressive. They will be strong enough, determined, adventurous and balanced. They are comparable with ambiverts. They are more prone to suffer from MDP.
    Dysplastic Type These people will have unproportionate body and do not belong to any of the three types mentioned above. This disproportion is due to hormonal imbalancement. Their behaviour and personality are also imbalanced.

4. Consolidation theory explains which of the following?

  • Explanation : (B) Consolidation theory is mainly linked to explaining memory consolidation.
    Consolidation is the processes of stabilising a memory trace after the initial acquisition. It may perhaps be thought of part of the process of encoding or of storage, or it may be considered as a memory process in its own right. It is usually considered to consist of two specific processes, synaptic consolidation (which occurs within the first few hours after learning or encoding) and system consolidation (where hippocampus-dependent memories become independent of the hippocampus over a period of weeks to years)

5. Which of the following is the most subjective method of educational psychology?

  • Option : A
  • Explanation : (A) Introspection is the most subjective method of educational psychology. It is the oldest method of educational psychology. The word 'introspection' has been derived from two Latin words, 'intro' meaning 'withing' and 'spiere' meaning to 'look'. Therefore introspection implies 'self observation', or in other words, to experience one's own mental state i.e., to observe, analyse and report one's own feelings.
